Today we are bottling our sparkling, which will have its second fermentation in the bottle. We hope the fermentation goes well and after the 6 months of aging we can disgorge the bottles and give them the final closures of natural cork and the wirehoods.

The vineyards are looking pretty good, even if we are a little bit behind. In contrast to the orchards here in the valley we have not a big frost damage. Especially the new plants at Soaring Eagle are doing very well.

Finally our new designed icewine bottles arrived! All our 2007 iewines - picked in January 2008 - are now bottled and available at the wineshops, including the double gold winner Mistral Gamay at the All Canadian Wine Championship and the gold winner Soaring Eagle Gewurztraminer at the Northwest Wine Summit. Looking in my archive I found a picture of the picking. We picked the icewine at minus 10 and bottled last week at plus 27. Typical Okanagan!
